    Oh in addition to this.

I would advise looking on jobs.ac.uk.

And if you have been to university, or were a student ambassador or anything like that then use this to demonstrate your knowledge, experience, and understanding of HE.

Why not volunteer for a charity or small business. You have skills they'd love but can't pay for. You can do this in your own time but would be a great CV booster and something to give at interview. The fact you recognised your skills were becoming stagnant and so challenged yourself outside your job role will be a huge plus for interviewers.

If it's education there are plenty that would snap your hand off that are charities but education focused.

What do you do out of interest?
I'm always interested when people seem to like their job.
    I just can't imagine it.
Every job i've ever had I literally pray for the day/week to hurry up so that the weekend can begin!

I work as a fundraiser at a charity - my job is to help volunteers raise money in the community but I also write bids for grant funding for the bigger elements of the charity. I absolutely adore my job - I'd do it for free if I didn't have pesky rent and bills! I got into it through sheer fluke too. I used to work as a computer/data security geek for an internet company but got made redundant. Got a job in anti-fraud for a high end fashion company but hated it with a passion. I was unemployed for 6 months so got my CELTA and did some volunteer ESOL teaching and also volunteered at Citizens Advice. My CV was spotted by a headhunter and the rest isa history :) I'm on £10k less per year than my old job but I love it and the people so money is secondary these days :j

    I know how that feels.
I'm bad at interviews due to nerves and anxiety etc, but another issue is that I really haven't achieved anything in life (at least anything a potential employee would be interested in. I mean, I had a threesome once which is an achievement of sorts!)
So I can't give any examples to the typical job interview questions and I can't really sell myself in general.
