Argos refunds , no receipt ?

Hello,
can i get a refund from Argos without a receipt ?
The item was paid for by cash but the receipt is lost.
The item was ordered online , so i do have the email from Argos
reserving the item for me and confirming the order.

What is the reason for returning the item?
If it's because it's faulty then all you need is some form of proof of purchase and an e-mail should be okay for this purpose.
However, if it's a change of mind under their 28 days returns policy then they do have the right to insist on an original receipt if this is what their terms and conditions state.0
