Parking in Hyde Park, Saturday afternoon

Hi all, what's the chance of getting a parking space in Hyde Park on a Saturday afternoon? (June 7th). We've done it on a Sunday in December before with no problems by parking on the main road through the park - but I don't want to drive all that way (about 40 miles) only to have to turn back because we can't find anywhere...

Are you looking for free parking or do you not mind paying?
Is there some event on at Hyde Park?0 -
If you are looking for free parking, I think it's free in Belgrave Square on Saturday afternoons - it's a short walk away.
Also, bear in mind if you're travelling in along the A4 from the west, Hammersmith Flyover will be closed eastbound that weekend, so it is probably going to be very busy with traffic on its' approach.0 -
Doesn't have to be free - I just don't want to drive 40 miles and not get a space.0

You can pre-book a parking space on the NCP website, the Marble Arch venue is £5.30 for the first hour and £5 per hour thereafter while the Edgware Rd venue is £6.70 per two hours.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -
In my experience you can get parking near Hyde Park on a Sunday as some of the parking restrictions are lifted in regard to permit parking (Kensington Gore), but usually on a Saturday they are in force. The traffic will also be heavy into London on a Saturday afternoon, whereas Sunday morning it is fairly light. If it is late afternoon, parking restrictions on Queens Gate are until 6.30pm, but you may struggle to get a parking space as it is permit holders and meters before that time.

Probably parking at a tube station and getting the tube in might be an easier and less expensive way to travel. You don't say where you are coming from but if via the M4 Hounslow West has a big car park and it is £2 to park on a Saturday and direct piccadilly line tube from there to Hyde Park Corner station, £3 off peak single fare with Oyster.

Thanks all.
I was hoping to park in Hyde Park itself (I'm meeting friends for a picnic, weather permitting) - I think it's around £2.40 an hour up to a max of four hours - I've parked there on a Sunday with no problems before. But if the traffic will be bad due to road closures I might rethink and get the train/tube in from further out.0 -

There shouldn't be road closures as I don't think there is a major event on, but the traffic on Saturday afternoon around that area is heavy, with limited or expensive parking options.0
