UKPC parking charge at the shopping car park in Aylesbury

I parked at a car park a shopping park in Aylesbury to do some shopping and did not notice that you have to take a free parking ticket to be able to stay there for 2 hours. I only realised it after 40-50 min when it was already late and I found a parking charge on my windscreen. After coming home I searched Google and found this forum and read the sticky threads, which I found very helpful. So I waited for the NTK which arrived today. As I understood from information posted on this forum I need to write to UKPC asking them to cancel the charge. Should I try to bring the NTK to the shop I was shopping at and try to get them cancel it first? This is not very clear to me.

Oh, another thing. The letter template in the first thread is quite long. Should I send it as it is for the first appeal?0

You can do both at the same time. Appeal to UKPC and also go to the shop. If the shop can cancel it then they can do so regardless of whether you've appealed or not. Likewise, if you do get them to cancel then don't assume the matter is over until you have confirmation (ideally a letter from UKPC).
And yes you should use the appeal from the template.0 -
yes, do both at the same time , no question
use the template letter as is , but try to get landowner cancellation asap so it goes no further0 -
Looked at the UKPC website. They have online appeal form, but the character limit is 2,000, which is blow the number of letters in the template. For the postal appeal they have a PDF form. Do I have to use it or I can just post a letter? I would prefer an email but could not find it.0

I am wondering if I can drop the Take formal note part from my first appeal in order to be able to use their electronic form?0

use a reduced version of the template appeal, online0

Just to report the results. I filled in the UKPC's online appeal form and sent an email to one of the stores I was shopping at the time of the parking charge. The store's manager apologised and kindly sent an email to UKPC asking them to waive the charge. After a couple of weeks I received a letter from them cancelling the charge due to mistake.
I would like to thank everyone who is running this forum and the people who replied in my thread with comments and advice! Really appreaciated.0 -
Thanks for the update - a good result and you've learnt about this scam as well for the future and for family/friends who might get a similar pile of rubbish themselves (no-one is safe from this scam, it seems).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
