Comparison site cheaper than Renewal but same company?

Just done the comparison sites for the renewal of my car insurance.

The cheapest company is KwikFit ...... @ £22 / month

I am currently with KwikFit and the renewal came through at £ 45 / month (think it was £33 this last year).

So how does this work.

Do I notifiy them that I can not renewing my policy with them, but then go ahead and buy a new one from the comparison site's link ??????

Call them and see if they will price match.

Your first years policy will always be cheaper than the next years, as the insurance company rely on these people who do not shop around and just let the policy renew automatically, so the price comparison quote you have got assumes this will be your first year with them.

We were with Sainsburys at £21pm, renewal notice came and they wanted to put it up to £48pm. No changes to the policy whatsoever.

    Now with Lloyds at £20pm

Year one discounting on new purchases often appears on comparison sites.

    Yes

(But is this the best deal you can find? If not, take your business elsewhere - you don't get any "reward" for being loyal)

I have just had my renewal from RAC, £228.77. New customer quote was £175.95 so I phoned them and got it at £190.91. Not perfect but came in around the same as other major insurers. Their website would not let me have a new customer policy.

Loyalty to a company means nothing today.

I chop and change at any renewal.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.
