Have had renewal notice for £550. Ran the same information through comparison site and it quotes £340 with the same company. Do I just not renew and buy the new policy? I can't speak to the insurers as they are online only

Make sure the current policy isn't on autorenew.
Otherwise your plan looks sound (assuming no other company beats that 340 quote, or you can't do better via a cashback site)0 -
This is typical of everyone's 'stitch up existing customers' policy. I would go somewhere else.0

Why go else where? Every company does this.

That's what I did, saved £125 and got a baby Oleg toy as well !!!
Actually I didn't save any money, I just got sent a renewal notice £125 higher than it should be then bought the policy at the correct price....rather like the PC World and other retailers advertising a £400 computer for £600 for 4 weeks then reducing it to £400 and banging on about saving you £200.....its marketing BS and the dumb public that believe in this shizzle !!!!"Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0
