Hi I bought my house in 2006 for £178000 the mortgage was for £170000 and £8000 was a unsecured loan. I have heard a lot about people claiming ppi and if a loan was taken out at a certain date you could have it wiped off but I can be wrong so can someone please help me with this one. Thank you

Why would you be able to "claim back" a loan? If you borrowed the money, you have to pay it back and it's only "wiped off" if you repay it (or go bankrupt).
PPI complaints are irrelevant.0 -

It is normal to repay money you borrow. It just tends to be slow to begin with on long term debts.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
