I've received a kitchen quote from Wickes

As the title says. The sales-person came out to the property and designed a kitchen which looks really nice. I received a quote for two kitchen; the first of a Sicily design and the second an Amilia. The quotes included a dishwasher; Leisure Dual Fuel; Larder fridge and a canopy hood. The price for the Sicily came to around £4,500 and the Amilia came to just over £5,500. Do these prices seem fair? Any advice on how to get them to drop the price further? The above prices include a discount of 15% which finnishes at the beginning of June. Any advice much appreciated.

In a word the prices are fair...Wickes are more competitive now than they have been in years...
However they will price match appliances so you could get a few hundred off that way by searching the net, and certainly Benchmarx will do an exact match for the Sicily, so if you have one within range, go and get a like for like quote from them.0 -
Wickes kitchens are good quality - I fitted one in my son's house. I priced and ordered appliances separately and as cddc said - Wickes would have matched. I also sourced my own sink and taps (Franke). I had a problem with the fridge door which split after several months. I got a replacement quickly and with no trouble. Recommended.0

We had a quote at the weekend from Wickes. I told them Iwas good at finding appliances cheaper online. He very quickly knocked 25% off all the appliance costs.0

We have a Wickes kitchen which is over 15 years old, it's still in pretty decent condition considering. The appliances have been replaced over the years but the units themselves are still solid and bearing up well."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0

No one can tell if price is fair ad we don't know how many units and if any special units etc.
Try. To get a quote from benchmarx. They are same as wickes but have advantage that their units come Pre assembled except doors so would save time in installation. Also personally I think a factory assembled unit is better than one assembled at home.0 -
Have you tried Benchmarx? Only they do many of the same kitchens at Wickes as they are owned by the same group.
My most recent kitchen came from Benchmarx & they were very keen price wise & excellent service. When a drawer front was found to be damaged by the fitter, Benchmarx had a replacement one delivered that same afternoon. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
As said above, all depends on how big it is. Those prices with appliances I would guess it's not massive?
But to say if it is good value we would need to know how many units.0 -
Fairness has nothing to do with it. If you think the price is reasonable and good value for money, then accept it. if you don't then don't accept it.
Plenty more kitchen suppliers out there..I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
