Clicking noises when indicating and turning
Car is an old shape Yaris. When the indicator is on, there's the usual quiet tick-tock-tick-tock, however when the steering wheel is turned (with the indicator on) there a series of 3 'clicks' that can be heard as the steering wheel is turned - the clicks seem to be coming from the indicator stalk but I can't tell for sure. So, turn the wheel through 90 degrees and hear one click, through another 90 degrees and hear another click, then one further click as you approach full lock (which isn't very often when you're indicating at same time). The clicks happen when indicating and turning in either direction. The click is not there unless you are indicating a the same time as turning.
I am guessing it's to do with the indicator's self cancelling function, and at the minute this is working ok for both sides, I'm just not used to the click that I can now hear. Anyone got any ideas what it could be? I've googled it and it does seem 'the norm' on some cars, but I've been driving this car for years and it has definitely just started making this click. I would have heard it before if it had always been there.

The self cancelling's usually done by a little protruding nub on the back of the wheel "catching" a tab on the switch. If you're not indicating, the tab's out the way. Sounds like one or the other of the two is wearing, they're both usually just plastic.0
