Cleaning and treating aniline sofas

We have recently bought some aniline leather sofas (good 2nd hand). They were treated when originally made but that was a while ago. I would like to clean and treat them but really don't want glossy leather, can anyone recommend a safe product that will retain the natural appearance? Thanks.

If your sofa is Aniline, then it is pure natural hide and does not usually have a "coating" and is therefore absorbent and will soak up liquids and so changes colour with use, sunlight and natural body oils will be amonst the causes, particularly where someones hands, neck or head has come into contact with the leather, some people consider this discolouration while purists will call it patina.
I imagine the original treatment must have been a leather protection cream that would have been more to protect against spills. So you cannot really "clean" Aniline leather, but you may be able to "wash" the leather and perhaps soften some stains.
For an idea how to do this have a look here :: http://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/How-To-Clean-Aniline-Leather.php0 -
Aniline cleaning and protection has moved on tremendously over the last few years. It is now possible to remove stains from Aniline Leather with specialist products.
Happy to help if required
