when i cook with sosmix i add a packet of paxo stuffing (premade with hot water of course) and stir it into the sosmix.....makes it go alot further and adds some flavour.....the kids love them either as balls, burgers or sausages, with or without breadcrumbs....quite versatile really.....

I love sosmix! You can do so much with it. Before I was vegan (just veggie), I used to make scoth eggs to die for with sosmix :)

Nowadays I love to add sage, marjoram, ground black pepper and a little cayenne - really great as comfort food with mash (and onion gravey, but some odd people dont like mash and gravey)

As above with sage and onion stuffing - it really does make the sosmix go further and tastes really nice. Sundried toms and paprika added are nice too.

I often make 2x up when making sosmix and freeze the extra as saussies for a when I'm feeling lazy - you can bung 'em in the oven and cook from frozen
  • I have never tried the SOS mix before but might give it a go now! My faves are the couldron ones, and H&B do some lovely ones in a tray which are quite often reduced to 99p a pack in my local store so I stock up on them then!

  • I use the Sosmix and stuffing mix to make sos rolls. These are popular with meat and non-meat eaters and I don't have to panic about keeping them so cool on a day out.

We also make sosmix sausage rolls, we do pin wheels and add some sweet chilli sauce to the mix. I also add it to sage and onion stuffing mix for stuffing.

I have also used it made up with water and added pasnips and onions and oats and lots of pepper and run it through the food processor then fried it in patties and served it with neeps and tatties on Burns night when I couldn't get hold of a veggie haggis.

I might have to do this. I've got a sachet of sosmix left and I don't really want to have to throw it away, but it is completely disgusting as it is, so I think a pack of stuffing will possibly disguise some of the taste.
