Can this be right?

My hubby earns £12,500.00 My job will only run until October this year so I will only earn £6,500 this tax year. We have one child.

I applied for tax credits and was told we will receive £31 per week in child tax credits.

We are not entitled to a working element
Surely this cant be right, can it?
Many Thanks

What did you earn last year? Are you not looking for another job?

    try this calculator and see:

don't forget to tell them that your job has stopped the day after it actually does. they can't make a note of anything that happens in the future.

Last year we earned £29,000 between us.

I will be looking for work but it is a very complicated situation.

I am currently on leave and will be limited to what I can do when my leave finishes

If last years was £29k and this years £19k they will base the award for this year on £21.5k (due to the £2.5k disregard)
Too high for working tax credits (about £18k for a couple) and your figure quoted sounds about right

Try putting your figures through this, as it will tell you of anything you may be entitled to:
