Can I Safely unplug fridge and freezer?
Can I safely unplug a separate fridge and a separate freezer to save money?
They won't be used until I move in, in a few months. To save money I was wondering if they can both be safely unplugged? I remembering reading somewhere about harmful gases? But is that only for the fridge?

How do you think they survive before installation if not plugged in? CFC's escape when a fridge is dismantled, not when unplugged. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Yes, and for different reasons keep them upright.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. No, don't switch them off! It's very dangerous.
Have you not read off the reports of people dying or suffering serious injury whenever there is a power cut? It's probably a result of all those poisonous gasses you heard about.
Ensure the new home already has fitted and working refrigeration units as you've no chance of moving yours ... unless you have a portable generator to keep them running during the move.

I love your strap line....... if you can't be kind at least have the decency to be vague..... words some may do well to follow perhaps
It shouldn't generally harm anything to switch a fridge or freezer off though I've known the odd old (twenty years or so) chest freezer be upset & fail shortly after being switched back on when it was moved between properties (perhaps he should have let gases settle before switching back on?)0
