Hi, i need to book 1 night in dublin june 18th to 19th. I will be alone but since my flight out of dublin is around 9.30 am, do you think i would be better off staying near the airport?
The hotels are so expensive around the airport and even then quite a few of them charge you for the shuttle bus!
But i think my flight is too early to be staying in dublin city centre, as ive been reading it takes about 45 mins on the bus from there?
Any advice on where to stay would be greatly appreciated, also which hotel websites are good? Do you think its worth trying priceline/lastminute/laterooms and leaving it until the last days before booking, to try and get a good deal?
Thanks

I got the Hilton Dublin Airport for £50 a night last year, with a €2 charge for the airport shuttle on the way to the airport. It was pretty good value. It's not right next to the airport, but it's only a 10 minute drive in the shuttle bus. I'd highly recommend it.0

Bewleys is £58 at Hotels.com including free shuttle. Add on 10% for a cancellable rate.
I wouldn't wait.

do you want to see Dublin, or is it literally just a stop over you are looking for?Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0

Maldron hotel dublin airport (used to be Clarion) is the closest and you can walk to the terminal from it
It is £60 using the above website for 18th June
The 2nd best is the Radisson, also walking distance.
These are both walking distance but also have a shuttle bus.
Some of the further out ones the bus runs every half an hour etc, so you are dependent on them.Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -
Thanks for all the help
Sorry i forgot to mention in my first post that i had found a few hotels for £60 and was looking for something cheaper.0 -

I will be arriving in the early evening about 6pm so i would deff be going into dublin for a look around and a drink/food.
But with the early start the next day (i think id need to be at the airport for around 7am) im not sure if it is wise to stay in the city centre?
Taxi's are apparently 25 euro, which is way too expensive, there doesnt seem to be a train service and the bus takes 45 minutes....so what do you think i should do?0 -

I wasnt aware of this hotel, so thanks. I had seen bewleys and premier inn, both are a shuttle bus ride away.
That maldron does look better because although its £2 more than bewleys, its within walking distance which is better for my early flight out.
Only thing is £60 for a night! ha ha
If i cant find anything cheaper or on offer i think i might just have to bite the bullet and pay the money!0 -

Thanks, i had been seriously thinking about bewleys as it was recommended on this board in other dublin hotel threads, but i was just trying not to pay £60 quid for one night.
Although this is the price they most seem to be roughly.0 -
I doubt you will get cheaper than £50 / £60 at the airport and in central Dublin it would be more costlyJohn0
