Hello hope I can get some help. daughter is on Income Support and Severe Disablement Allowance lower rate, due to her having Learning difficulties. She has now met a partner who also is on Jobseeker's Allowance and is in an assisted living house.
They hope to get married in the next year but I am concerned on how this will affect there benefits.
Any advice gratefully received.

Could you discuss it with a support worker from the assisted living house?
Will your daughter be moving in there or would they need to look for a new place to live?
A support worker should be able to run through the benefits that they would be able to claim if they moved in together.0 -
Thank you for replying, my Daughter does not have a support worker, we have tried on many occasions and usually have one meeting where we are promised the earth then nothing happens. And as far as we are aware her partner is in the same position, we thought it was an assisted living house but we now know it is not. I think he should be on the same benefits as my Daughter as he has the same problems as well as Athsma but he has been left on his own when his Mother passed away 4 years ago.
To answer your question, yes my Daughter would be moving in with him.0 -

It would be worth getting an appointment with CAB or similar and ask for help. You can use a benefits checker to get an idea of what is available - put in the information as if they are already living together and claiming as a couple.0
