New to this PPI stuff!

Hi, I just wondered if I have no idea whether i paid ppi or not on a loan and mortgage I had in 2008, can I try and claim or is it too late? Also i have no agreements left for this and I.do not bank with them, its Natwest btw.I can get account numbers, I think, from my credit report but that's it.

So basically, is it worth trying to claim, and how would i go about it?
Without change there would be no butterflies
If you don't like it, change it.

The comments and advice I give are what I believe to be correct
My phone likes to use full stops instead of spaces sometimes, I type too quickly and it would take forever to go back and change them all, so please excuse them!

You don't "claim", you make a complaint about how PPI was sold to you.

Do you think it was missold ?

From the looks of it, the OP isn't even sure if she ever took PPI let alone how it was sold to her.

Echo the sentiment though. To the OP, if you ask then they will probably tell you whether you took it (mortgage PPI is a monthly direct debit from your bank account the same way car insurance is, if you don't know whether you had it then you almost certainly didn't, either that or you've just forgotten).

However, they will only tell you whether you had it or not. There's nothing wrong with having PPI and you can't "claim" (complain) just because you had it. You would need to be able to persuade the bank or FOS that there were serious faults with the conduct of the sale and you wouldn't have taken the cover had it not been for these faults.

So yes, the first question I suppose is do you have any grounds for complaint?
