Fixing Headboards to the wall

We have just had our bedroom redecorated and now wish to permanently fix the bed headboards to the wall (previously - they were attached to the beds and flopped backwards and rubbed against the wallpaper - causing unsightly holes !!)
Is there an easy way of screwing the panels to the wall - which will then allow the beds to push up against them - like in certain hotels ?

Don't know how to attach to the wall, but as an alternative I staple gunned old tea towels to my headboard years ago & the walls are just as good now.0

To a certain extent, the fixing method will depend on the type of headboard. More detail?

you could put large screws with washers through the slots in the vertical spars, but you'd probably also need to secure it at the top, and that'll depend on your type of wall and the construction of the board itself.0 -
There is a way to do it quite easily. It is called the split batten. Google "split batten" and all will be revealed.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
We don't even bother now, they serve no useful purpose.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Hi, I had a similar problem in my son's bedroom- bought an IKEA divan base with no fixing holes for a split batten headboard. I got some brackets on ebay, can't post a link, but if you search for hidden or concealed headboard wall brackets you should find them. Two are fine for a single, but a double/king may need more to take the weight. They were a bit of a faff to measure/fit but the result is great.0

if it's supporting solid brick etc, then it's a piece of cake, get the masonary bit hammer it through slap in some no more nails paste, into this paste slap in some wall plugs, this is a good trick, leave it to set for 24 hours, soild as a rock, then you want your long screws in, and if the thing is heavy, up the diameter of the screws accordingly (and the holes and the plugs)
and watch for electric/pipes etc behind the wall. get a pipe and it's hundreds if not thousands in damage0 -

Just sleep when you go to bead. Headboard won't move then. :DAsk me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
Having done this plenty of times in our homes and show houses this is the method I use..Two offset keyhole type fixings ,one each side of headboard about 300mm in from edge. carefully mark where you want headboard to fit, mark where keyholes will drop onto. drill and plug with screwhaed protruding about 10mm. fix flat keyhole onto middle of base of headboard and after hanging the headboard drill and plug the bottom fixing. this will be behind the bed and won't show and stops any movement.
Sorry, not clever enough to post pix of keyhole types as my skills usually extend to hammer and nails only.0
