PPC at hospital car park

Hi,

i got PPC from hospital car park at stepping hill hospital from gemini. I have a valid parking permit but parked in no parking zone as there was no space. Lots of people park in this area and i have been doing so on and off for last 3 weeks but they give tickets only now and then as i realised now.

Is it helpful to point out in my appeal that i have a valid permit so there is no loss to gemini due to me parking there?

Thanks

You can make it an additional and final point of your initial appeal, which is already written for you in the NEWBIES sticky at the top of the forum index (one page back from here).

You do need to read and understand that sticky as you will have to do a bit of work to get rid of your problem. We will help and guide you, but won't be able to do it for you, so the more knowledge you gain about how to deal with this, the better you will handle it, and the more likely you will be successful.

Yes (as long as you have waited for the first Notice to keeper in the post) you could add it to the template in the NEWBIES thread but be careful not to say 'I have a permit'! Our recommended appeal is about 'the car' not the driver of course, remember you are appealing as the registered keeper and ONLY when the first letter arrives, as long as you are the keeper of the car.

All explained and the reason why you wait, explained in the top sticky thread for NEWBIES to read first. Don't appeal as driver to a windscreen ticket unless you are not the registered keeper (such as if it's a lease/hire/courtesy car). This is basic stuff from the sticky thread so I am concerned you may not have read it yet.

Thanks, I have read a little bit as i have another one against peel centre which i have submitted appeal to POPLA.

However, the one on windscreen is new one and wanted to know having a permit changes the picture or not?

You have a permit, but not for in a no parking zone. But that doesn't matter in respect of the legitimacy of their claim. So it doesn't really change the picture.

Have you based your POPLA appeal on 'what happened' (you'll lose) or on the winning points described via post #3 of the NEWBIES sticky (you'll win)? For reference they are:

    1. No genuine pre-estimate of loss (GPEOL)
    2. Signage
    3. No Contract with landowner to pursue charges in their own name at court
    4. No proprietary interest in the land
    5. Unlawful Penalty Charge
    6. ANPR Accuracy

If you haven't covered these points (especially #1) then you can, and need to, submit additional information (to include these) to POPLA.
