Hi CRT86,
Just wanted to stop by and say hi, thanks for subscribing to my diary, I have also subscribed to yours!
The hike in overdraft fees is just shocking, I:mad: am sure you will get lots of advice on here.

Hi CRT, I've just read your diary and wanted to say hello :hello:.
I was hit by the Barclays overdraft charges too (but the super-strength version 'cos my overdraft was £5000!!!). Luckily I was in a position to transfer it to a 0% credit card so I paid the overdraft off. Remember that the charges are based on your daily balance, NOT the limit on the account, so if you can keep it below £1000 for at least part of the month that will help until you can get it paid off or transferred. Which brings me to my next point!
I am probably around the same age as your parents and step-parents, and I have children in their 20s. As a mum, I would be devastated if my children were struggling as you are and didn't feel they could come to me for help. I don't just mean financial help (though they might want to do that), I mean support with your anxiety too.
Your dad obviously cares about you if he's given you a car, and it follows that he wants you to be mentally healthy. Sounds like he's on a good salary too so he might actually WANT to help you out financially. Or if not your dad, what about your mum? She loves you, and whilst she has money worries of her own, perhaps you could talk openly to her about all your problems? Maybe you could even both work on your debts together? Could you not open up to one or both of them - maybe even show them this diary?
I've chosen to keep my debts secret from my family so I'm not one to talk, but I am lucky in that I'm mentally strong. You don't sound to be coping too well, so I think you should consider opening up to those who love you. A problem shared and all that.......
Hope I haven't overstepped the mark, and whatever you decide I will keep reading your diary to cheer you on. xLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Just read your last few posts. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your purse, it so depressing but please don't let it drag you down - you began to sound so positive on your prior posts. You'll get there with your savings plan - it'll take a little longer but it WILL work out.
Lovely post from Happynow. You replied that your mum would be worried over your health. Could you not confide in her after all? - she is your mum and I'm sure she would be there for you and as she has made allusions she probably has some idea that you are troubled.
I'm not really qualified to comment over anxiety problems, but you mentioned CBT - may be worth looking into if you do not want to go down the medication route. Hopefully some of the other posters who read your thread will be more experienced and may have some helpful advice.

Hi CRT
Have just read through your post. What jumped out at me was how you have come such a long way with your weight and eating since last year. You have lost nearly two stone on your own by making considered judgments on eating and diet - your choices sound very healthy - and you appear to be eating normal portion sizes of what your mum serves up. You should be very proud of what you have achieved - especially as you have been feeling so down as well.
I think you should get back into you fandom writing - you enjoy it and you appear very successful at it. Good practice for your novel - Booker prize here you come!
Oh and I'm one of the very tiny minority in the world who has never gone on Facebook and has never had an account there. Bit of a luddite I know, but I can't honestly see what the attraction is. Perhaps you should do as you have suggested - just have a profile for your Uni support. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
