Grafted Cucumbers - Review
I know many will argue that growing from seed is cheaper and I've done that in the past but two years ago began the switch to grafted and can't see myself going back.
They were £4.99 each which is silly money but of the two varieties I have, Mini Star and Shakira I am already eating the results.
The Mini Star began cropping a week ago and I've had four small cucumbers from it, the Shakira will be ready to pick within the next couple of days.
Shakira currently has sixteen cucumbers on it ranging from 1 cm to 30cm and the Mini Star about the same but smaller.
They were planted on the 17th of April, into the ground in a polytunnel on a Pennine hillside, fed three times a week and watered daily, both plants are about 1.2m in height.
They are worth every penny despite the initial spend, I put some non grafted in at the same time for comparison, they don't compare at 30cm tall and are only just flowering.
If you are put off by the price then consider just how much more you'll get over the season, can't recommend them highly enough.

Greatest number of cues from a mini cue has been told to me at 132 from one plant. Does the grafted ones crop better than that?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
