Hi there,

I'm not sure if this is the best section to post this in so please feel free to move it somewhere more appropriate.

I'm in the process of sorting out my will and will be arranging for monies paid to my son (who is currently under 18) to go into a trust fund managed by Mencap. It has occured to me that he's unlikely to have sufficient mental capacity to write his own will as an adult and i've not been able to find much information about how adults with learning difficulties write wills. It just occured to me as I'm sorting things out that if something happens to me before he's 18 there won't be anything set up to do something with his money when he passes on. I'm assuming I need to set something up on his behalf now but don't really know where to start with that.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be grateful. Thank you :)

Sorry, just saw that I missed out 'about' in the title but can't change it now! Should be 'about adults with learning difficulties', sorry about that.

Agree with Indie Kid. Your first port of call should be Mencap.

It's possible it's something you can put into the Trust when you set it up as part of your will, assuming he won't have assets outside the trust.
