Best Small Business Card Payment Terminals

Hi all,
I have a growing business and I am seeking advice on taking card sales.
I currently take card payments through Barclaycard's own merchant services, via Barclaycard's GPRS physical terminal (for face to face txns) and, as the site of our business has pathetic GPRS coverage, via Barclaycard's virtual terminal/ web-based epdq service (for customer not present txns).
So far, the physical terminal is easy to use when it has GPRS but the virtual terminal is less user friendly for staff.
Specifically for customer not present txns, I'm looking for something robust and simple to use, both for staff and for customers. I want the solution to be available to my staff (who are remote workers).
If adopting the solution is associated with lower costs then great but the main priority at the moment is making it easier for staff.
Thanks for reading and any contributions will be gratefully considered.

If you want something cost effective for smaller numbers of transactions, that works for both cardholder present and not present transactions, take a look at Paypal Here, and Worldpay Zinc0

Hello,
Going through the bank to get a card terminal means they will usually slap high rates on your fee's and rental charges if you're a smaller business.
My company which provides chip&pin is 35-50% cheaper than the bank. We make our money by saving customers money on their merchant accounts/card terminals rather than charge through the roof rates like the bank do.
Our GPRS machines will actually store your data if you have no coverage and still print a receipt. The minute you get coverage the information stored will then be sent so you wouldn't need to worry about having very little signal anymore.
Feel free to call us on 01752 842213 - I will gladly help you and advise you on any information you'd like to know.
Kind Regards0 -
^ I wouldn't go with them.
iZettle are very good in my opinion, there's one flat fee of £59 to buy the chip and pin machine. The transaction fees are 2.75%, but they get lower based on how much you take. You run it via an iPad/iPhone/Android etc.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0 -
in my, albeit slightly second-hand, experience...having been with Streamline (as bank with NatWest) and moved to a cheaper alternative, moved back with no hesitation.
for all the 'big bank' criticism, with Streamline the payments arrive consistently when expected. 2 wd with Debit Cards, Mastercards and Visa. 4 wd (usually) with Amex. with the other provider Visa and Mastercard were 2,3,4 or sometimes more days, and Amex was 4 days to about 15 days...0
