Halifax clarity first statement query

in Credit cards
Hi all I apologise for such a long rambly post but I am a credit card newbie. I applied for a Halifax clarity card on the 2nd of May and received it about a week later. I used the card on the 18th of may online for the first time and I paid off the balance in full on the 21st May. Internet banking shows my balance is nil and the payment was received.
Yesterday I recieved a paper statement through the post dated the 19th of May which shows the transaction I made and estimates my interest next month at 15p. Am I right in thinking that as I have paid the balance in full no interest will be due? On the letter it states minimum payment due by the 13th June. Many thanks in advance

Yes, providing the transaction was a purchase and not a cash transaction. Assuming it was a 'purchase', the 'estimated interest next month' figure is based on a couple of assumptions:Am I right in thinking that as I have paid the balance in full no interest will be due?
1. You make the minimum payment on the due date, and
2. You make no further transactions.
Going forward, unless you're using it for cash transactions it's best to wait until you've received the monthly statement before making your payment.0 -
Hi YorkshireBoy thanks for replying. Yes it was an online purchase for hair serum so not a cash transaction.
The main reason I got this card is to use in the USA next month. I'm away between the 5-12th of June. If I use my card during in that time will it need to be paid off by the 13th June or will it be due after? Sorry as I said I'm a complete noob when it coes to credit cards lol.0 -
Short answer - no.
Long answer - Your next statement will be generated around the 19th June, and any transactions on there will need to be repaid by around the 13th July.0 -
Thank you
