Well i have considered leaving my back gate open and liberating them, but that is worse than her sadly. That's why i was hoping the council would have a duty.
Council has a duty to collect them from the street so open your gate and let them go and then call the council.

Council has no responsibility to fix fence nor does any landlord. or any property owner for that matter but they do have to keep their pets under control within their own property and if that means putting up a fence then it's up to the tenant to do that. They can take the panels with them when they go if they can be bothered.

  • Sounds like she is quite the scumbag and that you have 2 options. 1) Just replace the fence yourself. 2) Escalate the situation. Leaving your gate open sounds like a good way to do this. But if she is a fruit loop, you don't know what her next response will be.

I don't know what I would do. If it was just me on my own, I would probably go for the fight option and leave the gate open. But, I got a family and in truth, for a peaceful life at the current time I would probably just fix the fence myself. Or just run some chicken wire along it to keep em out for the time being. That wouldn't cost a lot and would stop the dogs getting in.

Don't leave the gate open - if the dogs escape and bite someone you will feel terrible.

I think you should make a police report - then go to the council.

Take your gate off, say it fell off and you'll get around to getting it fixed when you can afford to pay someone to do it

I bet she could afford to sort the fence out if she got rid of a few dogs.

i'm getting fed up of the dogs coming into the garden and the Alsations trying to attack me.

In this position, I would go to the local Police and (politely) ask if a PCSO was available to go round to the neighbour and (politely) warn her of the likely consequences of her irresponsible dog keeping.

A sensible PCSO would make it clear that several neighbours have voiced concern about the perceived risk if your gate should accidentally be left open.

Alternatively, get hold of half a dozen old pallets and cobble together some sort of fence - it may not be pretty but it will do what you need it to without spending out money that you haven't got.

This is an unhappy situation for you but I feel also for the dogs who are themselves at risk, through no fault of their own, just the stupidity of a cretinous owner!

she says she wants war, so go to war , otherwise you'll lose ground and her and her foul dogs will walk all over you- you have my full sympathy as I had a scumbag next door in my old house, albeit the all night party type. But what I found is that if I didn't call the police every single time it set a precedence for more bad behaviour. These psychos are not interested in bargaining, or compromise, they're interested in themselves and the distance between their face and the end of their nose. So if I were you, I'd call her on it, I'd go to war, I'd do everything in my power to make sure the authorities clamped down on this nasty , anti social behaviour. Good luck.
