Mature student entitled to?

Hi I am off to uni this September as a Mature Student. I am studying a part time degree course and have a child starting school in September too.

I am a lone parent (very long story cut short - hubby is over seas awaiting a visa desicion first one was declined, second one is on hold so I am classed as a lone parent even though I am married)

Can anyone help advise me as to what I am entitled to when I leave my full time job to go part time and study part time.

I am looking to work school hours around 16 hours a week.

I am also looking to move out of my mothers home, I have lived with her for 3 years waiting for hubby to come over but have decided that I need my own space and my child needs their own bedroom (we share a bedroom at the minute).

I will be getting an NHS bursary but I don't know how much yet.
Am i entitled to working tax credit, child tax credit, housing benefit or council benefit?

I have looked at the entitledto website but I find it all a little confusing!

Thank you for reading.

You can always get child tax credit.

You can get working tax credit if you work so many hours per week.

You can get council tax discounts as a single person and may be exempted if considered a full time student or may get a reduction if your income is low enough.

Hubby is overseas awaiting a visa so his earnings are irrelevant. The UK border agency won't grant him a visa therefore I am treated as a single/lone parent. The tax credit office currently use my salary only.
