Argos Credit Card buy now pay 6 months

Hi,
I'm in need of a GPS watch for an Ultra Marathon which Argos stock for £120.

My finances would be too stretched to buy it in one go this payday... so I've spotted that Argos do a buy now pay over 6 months.

My question is... Once I buy it, can I make payments spread out over the six months? Or do I have to save up the whole £120 then pay it off in one go.

I could do that in less than 6 months, but would like to know if I could make smaller payments.

I know that if I have to pay it in one go, I'll wait til the last minute then the car will break or something and then interest will be added and I'll end up paying a fortune for it!!

Thanks in advance - I've also looked on their site and can't find anything :(

Yeah, you can pay it off a bit at a time. Just make sure you clear it before the 6 months are up, or you will get charged interest from the day of purchase.

    This...
    A Representative Example

Spend £199 on a 6 month Buy Now Pay Later Plan and you don't have to pay anything for up to 6 months (although you can begin earlier if you wish) then settle the balance by the due date. Total payable £199. Or choose to spread the cost for longer, and start paying the monthly minimum as detailed in your terms and conditions, plus any charges incurred. Your balance includes deferred interest from the purchase date. Store card credit for Argos Ltd is provided exclusively by Home Retail Group Card Services Ltd, part of the same group and both at 489-499 Avebury Boulevard, Milton Keynes MK9 2NW.

    ...seems to answer your question.

When I purchased a wardrobe from Argos last year I spread payments out over a period of five months; it shows on your statement when the Buy Now, Pay Later ends.

It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

At the end of the buy now pay later period you get the choice of whether to pay by installments or pay the whole balance. BUT if you pay the full balance before the end of the period you could be charged a fee which could be greater than the reducing interest if you paid by instalments monthly. Interest is also calculated from the date of purchase so you still pay interest during the buy now pay later period if you pay by instalments. Overall it's cheaper to pay the whole balance at the end of the period. Complicated? I'd say!:
Up to 14 June 2014 the following clause will apply

Interest Rate: If you repay in full before the end of the Buy Now, Pay Later Period, no interest will be charged but a fee of £29 may be charged. We will tell you before you take out the Plan if this is the case.
If you choose not to pay off the balance in full, we will move the balance onto the Normal Plan at the end of the Buy Now, Pay Later Period. Interest of 29.9% per annum (variable) will be back-dated to the date of the transaction.

I was offered Argos card when I was buying iPad and now I realized that I was forced to pay an extra £87 pounds. When I tried to clear my outstanding payment few weeks ago, the online account would not let me do it , either the tel number on my statements for online payments would not let me do it.
And now I was reminded of terms and conditions.
I asked the advisers at least to halve the payment, I have children, I have to work extremely hard to make these money, however, they were reluctant.
At the end I agreed to pay a full payment plus the EXTRA £87 pounds which I believe the Argos took from me in a way which is not honest or fair.
I promised the advisers that I will never have any business with Argos anymore.
I wont even go to Argos shop anymore, I think it is all I can do right now.
But PLEASE BE AWARE of Argos card.

I there is any Argos representative around here please get in touch with me because I honestly feel my three children were deprived by taking these extra fees because of your own fault.. I have not got much time as I am most of the time working, by this I mean helping people to feel better as this is my specialty.
If you have any intention to help people not to punish, you will appreciate my concerns and at least try to have a look at this matter.

Assuming you're talking about the Garmin Forerunner 15, which is £119.99 at Argos, it's cheaper at £99.99 from Currys if you can get a friend to loan you the money, and it would save you a credit check too.

Last Year I bought a couple of items using the Buy Now Pay Later plans (one three and the other six months). I paid the former off within a month and the latter a within three months. I have never been charged the £29.
