I have a Barclays account and only use mobile banking, will i lose this as well. Considering that if i want to set up a new payee or transfer i have to login to the internet banking. I only use the mobile as a way to keep track of my bank balance.

Yes, I lost access to mobile banking about a week after going bankrupt.

None of their own staff seem to know that you aren't allowed internet banking. I was told by an online advisor yesterday to apply for online banking. I told him my understanding is that I am not allowed access to it as an un discharged BR, he said "I understand, it's fine, if you have a DR card you can have it, here's the link." The advisor in the bank was also going to set that and phone banking up for me and I told her not to as it would be withdrawn on BR. Given that Barclays haven't sent me one statement since I opened my account in Feb then I have applied for internet banking online, but fully accept that it will probably be revoked swiftly. However, I did save the conversation with their own advisor.

New accounts have a default to quarterly bank statements but if you go into the branch and ask - you can have weekly paper statements. You are also allowed a weekly balance text and text alerts for low balance and large deposits or expenditure.

All good stuff - beware the texts have a 24 hour time lag - the amount shown will be your cleared balance at close of business the day before - so keep track of spending as well - a text in the morning if you were out on the town or late night shopping the night before can be misleading ;)

Does it mention specifically in the T&Cs now that you are not allowed internet banking etc? Did not used to, but they relied on the basic we can pick and choose what we offer you at our discretion type one.

I'm not sure and to be honest I haven't checked but at my local branch, the member of staff I dealt with (local manager) was quite clear, no internet or mobile banking - she offered the texts and weekly statements but she was surprised herself that I wouldn't get phone banking or be able to use their in branch banking machines.

Instead of waiting for a cashier they have machines inside u can use, and yes u can't use those when ur bankrupt either. It makes me laugh as surely we need to be more careful with our money yet they take any control off us. I signed up for weekly statements so I knew where I stood :/ bit naff really. BUT as soon as u have ur discharge notice u get it all back
Without change there would be no butterflies
If you don't like it, change it.

The comments and advice I give are what I believe to be correct
My phone likes to use full stops instead of spaces sometimes, I type too quickly and it would take forever to go back and change them all, so please excuse them!
