Tumble Dryer in Garage? Any problems with this?

Hi
Have a condensor dryer at the moment, bought this as we have nowhere to put a hose out of the window/door etc, it keeps breaking down as due to fluff build up (we clean the condensor part at least every week and the fluff filter every time we use the machine) but as the fluff builds up water gets into some part which causes it to short, it costs £30 each time to fix, because of this am a little put off about getting another condensor tuble dryer (hotpoint one anyway)
Anyway the questions is if we were to put a normal dryer in the garage would this cause a problem, would vent in to the garage, just have standard garage door which seems to allow good air intake.
any thoughts?
thanks
Jim

Any possibility to vent outside through garage wall??? Although you might not notice at first, you could have mould growing in some corners if your outlet releases in garage, your tools could go rusty with this additional moisture in the air.....you could easily fit a vent system through a brick wall or a window.0

Thanks. cant easily vent through wall as ajoings next doors garage, no windows either which is why we bought the condensor dryer in the first place but this has proved more trouble than its worth0

As Mr Warren says don't vent steam into any building,
You can use a standard dryer with a vent kit ( no need for a hole in a wall )which collects the water allowing the dryer to be placed anywhere.0 -
can you not vent out the front or back wall of garage? I always vent outside, as i'm not too impressed with these vent kits........or condensing tumble dryersgo on, adopt a greyhound

The back wall of the garage leads into a study (dont really want dryer in there though), no front wall only the garage door...is there any way to vent through this? had heard the vent kits (are those the ones that go into a bucket?) were pretty poor so had discounted these on this basis alone0 -
I have a condenser drier and have no trouble with it. You could try John Lewis machine which comes with a 5 year warranty."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

It may be the make of the dryer. Some dryers are useless.
I use to live in a rented property with a condenser dryer which my housemate insisted on using 4 times a week. I used it once if that. It didn't break down once over 2 years.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
I have my timble drier in garage, beside back door, I vent out of the door, just keep it open and set pipe out.
Maybe I shouldn't be doing that???:hello: weebro0 -
My dryer is in a utility room but vents through the wall into the garage, its caused no problems in the last 7 years. Its quite nice in winter to do a bit of DIY in a warmed up garage! but as you rightly guessed, garages are large spaces and generally draughty enough to be fine. IMHO.
