I have read the Newbie thread but im still confused!!
I ignored the 2 initial letters from NCP as I was told to.
Now I have the standard 1st letter from Newlyn.
Do I ignore? Or contact them to say its in dispute?
I did draft a letter to dispute it with NCP but never sent it.
The letter from Newlyn says not to communicate with NCP now and to only deal with them.
They now want £150!! for a poxy £3 ticket!!
I didn't pay as the signage was awful and I thought it was free after 8pm (it used to be) There were loads of cars with tickets on as most thought it was free after hours.
There are no lights and no gates etc, its just an old open car park.
Obviously im concerned as the letter threatens they will collect the debt and I might get a CCJ which I understand to be only a threat.
I just need to know how to proceed as I have NO intention of paying this.
Thanks

Who told you to ignore letters? We haven't advised that for almost 18 months. Now your choices are to ignore or to pay, they do not do court for the most part, and certainly Newlyn's have no standing to go there, all they do is send out threatograms, and if they get your number they will call you. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

I went on a few websites where it said to ignore as if you replied you were admitting you were the driver.
Why has the advise changed?
Obviously this was a mistake...
Would you suggest I continue to ignore then?
I don't want it going to court!! totally blowing it all out of precaution0 -
Because the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 made registered keeper's liable in certain circumstances. So its not wise to ignore, but now your course is set, so ignore is your only option unless you wish to pay? This will not go to court IMO

to clarify
on here and pepipoo the advice changed in feb 2013 (15 months ago) due to that POFA 2012 from oct 2012 which will be 2 years ago this coming end of september 2014 so about 20 months ago now
so a few months to get up to speed and then DO NOT IGNORE for the last 15 months
anyway, follow the debt collector advice in the NEWBIES THREAD as mentioned earlier
what you want isnt really relevant , as the ppc or landowner are in the driving seat, but currently dont have you paying for their petrol - road tax or insurance( yet )

It isn't true. Last time NCP saw the inside of a court a motorist was suing them and it cost them more than £85,000.Je suis Charlie.0 -

I can't attach photo, have I missed the option?0
