Isn't this the sort of thing DLA is supposed to cover.....costs for things to level the playing field ?
Not all disabled folk get this or it's replacement, and in applying for such there are very long waits, I just got awarded pip after wait of 39 weeks. Also there are a lot of additional costs when disabled dependant on needs - increased fuel costs at home if unable to work. Aids I bought my own wheelchair and that was in excess of £200 , sticks, and other aids. I was lucky my boyfriend bought me a motor scooter for valentines day and got hold of a bigger one too that allows me to access muddy car parks etc and rough terrain so can enjoy my interests that with out I would be all but housebound.
All this before I got told I qualify for standard rate.I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0
