How much do you want to spend?
Cheapest smartphones cost just abut £30. They can be a little slow, but will do the job if you don't load them with any rubbish.
Very good one can be bought for ~£80.
For the cheapest options see this recent thread: Choice of handset0 -
motorola moto E around £80
is that too expensive?
anything cheaper will be slow & frustrating to use0 -
Don't buy one without trying it first... A couple of friends have low end Samsung phones (circa £80 a couple of years ago, sorry can't remember the model) and they are next to useless. Maybe their budget smartphones have improved but these have very sluggish touch screens and a hard to use menu system. Even sending a text message with one is a chore.
It's almost as if they were deliberately made to perform poorly in order to make potential buyers look to their more expensive models IMHO...0 -
