Wrong delivery address - being charged for it

Options
Hi,

I recently ordered some glasses online - you can try them on at home and return them.

After waiting about a week after my dispatch email i contacted the company as to the whereabouts of my parcel.

It turns out i mixed up my delivery address and billing address - apparently i wrote down the correct delivery address but put my billing address postcode down (instead of the delivery address postcode) by accident.

I am now being charged for the items as they have gone missing in the post. Do i have any come back or am i liable because of the incorrect address?

Thanks

Your fault I'm afraid. As you know the postcode is key when it comes to delivery and if you put the incorrect postcode down then neither the seller or courier can be liable for your mistake.

Did they actually get delivered to the billing address?

    Hi,

    Sorry, just seen the reply

No they haven't been delivered there either. Must be still in the royal mail network

Have you been to the RM sorting office , with some ID from the billing address and asked them if they have them?

I did this before! I wrote down an Oxford address with a Durham postcode! It arrived about a month later, and had obviously been to Durham first, then they realised the mistake.

If it had only been a week, then wait a bit longer.

Ultimately, it's your fault and not theirs, so you should end up out if pocket.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
