Hardship payments

Looking for some help and please, if you can't say anything nice then don't reply to my topic, I don't need judgemental people at this time as I am stress as it is. :(

On Monday, I got awarded for hardship as my Job Seekers as been sanctioned for 4 weeks and I think my sanctions ends on 06.06.2014, anyway I signed on yesterday and when I got back I phoned Job Centre benefits office and got told no hardship as been sent out yet.

Anyone know how long it takes for hardship to go in my bank account? I am not in a vulnerable group, does it take 2 weeks or will it go in sooner then 2 weeks?

Any help would be great thanks. and my housing benefit as not been affected by this sanction, my council said my rent is being paid as normal, so that's one less thing to worry about :)

I have already posted this on Consumer Action Group, Just need your opinions on this.

Well, it won't go in before Tuesday now, because of the bank holiday.

If it's not in Tuesday, then either phone and ask them to ask when they are sending it, or go down there.

Are hardship payments made in arrears or in advance? I can't remember. If the former, you will not receive payment until 6th June, if the latter you are eligible now for a two week payment to cover the next two weeks - but keep in mind you will then not receive a full payment until 20th June, as normal payments are made in arrears.

    AFAIK
The BC has to recieve the notification that hardship has been awarded.

Then they will issue any arrears owed, generally as a 3 day payment.

You should have asked them have they been notified of the hardship award? If they said 'yes' you should ask for arrears as a same day benefit payment. If they said 'No' go back to your JSA advisor who did the Hardship interview and ask them why the BC still doesn't know 4 days after the decision was made..... or ask the BC to look into this and call you back

So, hardship payment will go in my bank account on 6th of June?

If you have already had a reduced payment due to a sanction....covering say 1/05/14 - 15/05/14
The hardship will apply from a certain date..

If the date the hardship is to begin is within the period that you have already been paid for say 8/05/2014

Then you will get 1 week of hardship arrears as soon as the BC gets the notice that hardship has been allowed by the jobcentre.

If the date the hardship has been awarded from is after the period already paid i.e. 16/05/2014
then you will get it on your next fortnightly payment.
