I also managed to go to the pub and come home with more money than I left with as a friend paid back what she owed me
Today's list is minimal too as we're off to a wedding later:
Top up fuel to get £2 cashback
Nectar adpoints
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!0 -
Today I shall just be content if it is a NSD.Spend less now, work less later.0

ClootiesMum- Thanks for the link to car gadget. I didn't know such a gizmo existed! Thankfully, this morning when I just had a little drive up to the farm shop, the engine warning light had gone out. I think it probably was due to flood water washing up into the engine in yesterday's torrential downpours x2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (36/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg

Hi everyone  Happy long weekend  weather here is fantastic :T
Thanks for starting us off ziggy :A hope your recovery is going well & you are looking after yourself!
Clootiesmum - I totally hear you on the "work is a big fat stressball & I need to look after myself" front. Hope you manage to stay strong! Where I work (soon to be where I used to work ) there is a culture of people working unpaid overtime and clocking up ridiculous hours. I have found to keep sane doing this the best thing has been to continually look at priorities on a daily basis to ensure I don't balls up, managing my time to the minute, and ensuring I'm liaising with my manager over priorities & workload, so 1. she can tell me what her priorities are & understand that I can't do everything & 2. if something does go wrong I am protected that I was directed by my senior
So those of you on the facebook site will know I lost my job on Thursday. Have been gutted beyond belief and am feeling very much aggrieved. Have been looking at my manager's calendar (as she has been on AL for the past 1 1/2 weeks) as I want to lodge an appeal of the decision and possibly a grievance and surprise surprise her AL takes me past the point I have to raise it. Guess I'm just going to have to raise it without having the opportunity to discuss with her first...
So given I am about to have nil income I am thinking the small things are really going to add up before I get another job & get some income. I do have some savings but obviously want to dip into them as little as possible before starting work again...
Things this weekend:
* 3 loads of washing, all on the line to dry
* massive clean up of the house
* oh has put up stair gate to prevent dgd having an accident (every time I turn around she's 2/3s up the stairs!)
* put away about 3 loads of washing (from the last week)
* used new dyson vacuum - 2nd one off ebay. This time it is a cylinder type, costing £50 and works like a dream
* got prawns out of freezer for dinner rather than go out for roast like I originally wanted
* will use 19p ys pilau rice to go with prawn curry mmmmm
* went to the boot fair & got fruit for the week (£1.50) & a few transplants - courgettes, peppers, mint & spinach (£2.50)
* also got a few bits for dgd's birthday in July - 4 books, 1 material book so when she makes a grab for it it'll survive! 1 toy (gave that to her today) and a little vetech laptop toy (£4)
* Also got 5 pairs of pjs & 5 pairs of socks for (£3) which dd gave me back
* need to re-pot all of my plants
* email first dyson ebayer re returning broken machine as he hasn't responded to me
* massive tidy up of house
* oh did a patch job on our broken fence - really need to do something about it soon
* submitted expenses - £250 owed to me
* re-did time sheet. I wrote off 40 hours of overtime when I returned from AL but as I have a window before I leave I have resubmitted it. Am going to suggest I work 9-4 between now & when I leave and that means I will only take back 24 hours. Will need to have a conversation with the Head of Service. This conversation is going to be awkward as have loads of things to raise
* need to sort out funds, have bought loads of things for joint use and from different savings pots & need to work out what's from what pots & do the necessary transfers etc. Make sure I make good notes in diary or in a month's time I won't know why I made all the transfers!
* watch House of Cards later using dfil's netflicks subscription :shhh:
* was driving past the carwash & saw it was doing it's 99p promotion so thought it'd be rude not to - car is at the !!!!!!??! stage of needing to be cleaned
Think that's my lot for today. Just think guys still another day of the weekend to go :jDF as at 30/12/16

Hi folks, have not been well so this is a belated post.
Spent most of yesterday in bed. OH made 4 loaves of bread and I have sliced and frozen.
Today we drove to a town nearby where colleage advised there is a car boot sale every Sunday. No evidence of such a sale (am very glad I did not fill the boot and turn up at 6am). Did find a 99p shop and got some good bargains (shower gel, cleaning stuff et).
Otherwise we are eating at home (hoping to feel well enough for a baking day tomorrow) and having a NSD.
Best wishes to all x0 -
DNMS - not so good - I hope raising the grievance has some effect - keep us updated.
