Well, since I don't actually know the answer to the question, none.
Isn't that better than guessing something?
It's a grey area, hence nobody here can give a definitive answer.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
OP just go in and speak to a manager, or ring customer services up. Don't get all frosty and Narky with them, use your charm and see if they will let you return it.
You are not going to get a definitive answer on here, for your question.
Only thing I can find is as below
What is the returns, exchange and refunds policy?Subject to exceptions, Debenhams is happy to exchange or refund your purchase within 28 days of delivery, for Click & Collect orders the 28 days starts after you have received your 'Order Ready for Collection' email. Your refund will be credited to the original payment card, if you have used a Debenhams giftcard your refund will automatically be credited to the original gift card.
Unwanted goods must be returned in a fully resaleable condition and any tags must be intact. Extra care must be taken when trying on clothing, please ensure you are not wearing any make up, fragrance or deodorant that may leave a scent or mark. We reserve the right to refuse an exchange or refund if goods are not returned in a saleable condition or are damaged.0 -
Thanks for all the responses everyone.
Seems like a very grey area so I will be contacting customer services as rustyboy21 suggested, and let you know how it pans out.
It was actually collected on the 29th day if I recall correctly, hence this awkward situation.
Thanks to all for your help0 -
If it was the 29th day, I would certainly be using my charm of customer services. Hope I have got it right here, but is the reason why you want a refund, is that you have seen the product reduced in price in the store and you paid the dearer price?
If so, I wish you luck, but don't hold your breath. If it were me, I would see if they would price match it or at least meet you 1/2 way. I don't think you have any legal redress for it, as you have left it too long, for DSR's. Even trying to use the SOGA, wouldn't work in this case. It will be down purely to the customer services dept's good will now, I feel0 -
you agreed to buy it then want to screw them over an after-purchase discount?
nice......Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -

I don't see that the OP is trying to screw them. If there is a way to get the product cheaper (all else being equal) and you are legally entitled to a refund then why not do it? It just so happens that in this case its not clear cut whether the DSR cancellation period starts from the point of collection or the point of notification that its ready for collection.0 -

On the flip side if the product was more expensive now Would the OP be offering to pay the difference?
If the contract gave the company the right to charge the difference would the company just ignore that? There's nothing wrong with getting a refund on something if you are contractually allowed to do it.0 -

Where has the OP said that this is what they wanted to do? You have imagined it!
OPs fiancee purchased a dress to be collected from store. Did not collect until it had been at the store for 29 days. Wants to return. Collection/return one day out of the period where they will refund in full. Dress is now reduced so they only want to refund based on the current selling price.
Perhaps you would like to apologise to the OP for your unwarranted criticism, as should the others who have 'joined in'.
