Refund of gadget support direct debit?

I took out (or rather I was automatically given) VIP Gadget Helpline support for a phone I bought from mobiles.co.uk (aka CarPhone Warehouse). The first month is free, thereafter it is £3.99 a month, billed 6-monthly in advanced.
I forgot to cancel the DD, and only spotted the payment when checking through my statements and didn't recognise it. I cancelled the DD without any problem - all done quickly without any queries, so no complaints there.
The letter I received said that 'your Direct Debit and your Gadget Helpline support under the reference below has been cancelled'. If my support was also cancelled from the date of the letter, am I entitled to ask for a refund for any of the unused 'support' that I paid for upfront? Many thanks.

You paid for support by accident because you didn't check you cancelled it?
If that's the case, I can't see them refunding you.
You can always ask though.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
