A bit of a bargain this I reckon. Acer Chromebook C720 intel 2955u for £179 and used with Voucher code TDX-LVY3 for an extra £20 off.
I just ordered mine as I will need a replacement for my windows Laptop which has to be returned to rent smart next month after spending over £700 leasing it for 2 years after Currys salesman said you can keep the Laptop with no further payments after 2 years but that's another story...

I'm unclear what things you can run on a Chromebook, surely its Android only stuff is it not?0

That's not an unusual offer, there's a few around that price range without a voucher on Tesco Ebay.

A better option would be to buy a good quality used netbook like the Samsung N145. Examples off ebay for £130 and under http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Samsung-N145-Plus-10-1-279-GB-Intel-Atom-1-66-GHz-1-GB-Netbook-Black-/171332175818?pt=UK_Computing_Laptops_EH&hash=item27e43187ca
Then put the free LXLE operating system on it which includes lots of good useful software including office software such as Libre Office http://lxle.net/ , linux version of skype , Firefox, VLC media player and hundreds more. You would then have a system safer. easier to use and more stable than a windows based one and more flexible than the Chromebook android one.0 -

Chromebooks don't run Android, they run ChromeOS which is different. They can't inherently run Android apps (but there is a way of doing it https://gigaom.com/2014/03/26/chrome-show-run-android-on-a-chromebook-thanks-to-android-x86 ). Chromebooks can access web sites, run web/cloud based services such as Google Docs, and also run Chrome browser-based apps.
Chromebooks can't print to normal USB printers. You either need a special printer, or print via a Windows PC. Which IMHO is a serious failing that Google needs to address.
Chromebooks can't run Skype, but Google have their own equivalent system."Such an enormous country, you realize when you cross it" - Jack Kerouac0 -
Interesting developments... first of all my order with John Lewis online was cancelled and my money refunded and then the same has happened with Tesco online, both via email without explanation. Both websites are still showing as having stock.
Why don't they want me to buy it? Looking to buy from Argos now or at least try and buy from Argos.0 -
You can get a laptop for much the same, unless you specifically want a small screen.
