Time for my meds before I forget, and another Piriton. I've got 21 bites from my holibobs and feel carp :(

I feel for you with the bites, I get bitten terrible every year, we were in Wales last week, and I have about 20 odd bites on me aswell, usually I use the Avon So Soft Dry oil which is really good, but I have run out and they have been out of stock for a few weeks, I keep trying to re order then they cancel on me a few days later.

I am popping into town today, as I need to get something, as walking through woods on Saturday as I am doing RACE FOR LIFE, and I will get eaten alive and need something to cover me. Anybody got any recommendations for something to pick up in savers, superdrug, boots?????

    Xmas Saver!

    Hi there.

No-one ever finds any Wednesday night glitches when I ask and no-one ever replies to any of my posts:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

In the meantime, I have a conundrum arising (lol:rotfl:) from product packaging information. Does anyone else generally see the conflict that I have detected here?

It's about best before and use-by dates. Best before is about quality, use by about safety. Therefore products are fine to consume after best before dates, as they are merely an indication of the manufacturer's opinion as to how long their product will remain at its optimum quality.

I have a package with a best before date. However, it also says "Once opened, use by [the] date shown".

Does anyone see a conflict there?

Or is this just me taking things too literally again? ---In which case, why don't people write or say what they mean, instead of writing something else that does not mean what they meant? People think they know what they mean to say but why do they then say something else which, instead of saying what they meant, does not say what they think it does but says something else they did not mean or, instead of meaning what they meant, carries a completely different meaning to whatever they meant and says something completely different from what they intended themselves to mean?
So if it has today's date and you open today, you must eat it all today? That's seems to be what they're saying, but this makes no sense  I've never seen advice like that on food before. Normally on foods with a best before date it says "once open consume within x days". The best before date is irrelevant really as this is merely an indication of how good it will taste. It's perfectly safe to eat dried food 100 years after the best before date. I heard this from a scientist on TV :D

Food with a best before date does lose quality but it's usually quite some time after this date. I'm currently eating pistachios with a February best before date and they're just fine. Crisps taste funny to me though if they've gone past their date.

    Good morning everyone :)
