Woman gets on the bus with her cat in a carry box.

She puts said box with cat on the seat, with the door facing the wall of the bus.

Cat is clearly terrified and is meowing like mad. She tells it "shush" every now and again.

It let out one meow and she whacked the side of the box and told it to shut up

QoC cant keep her gob shut any longer and tells lady to put the cat box on her lap and put her hand by the door so it can smell her and get a little bit of comfort and familiarity.

She tells me it will get worse if it is on her lap. In return I tell her it couldnt possibly be any worse than where it was already. I said again that it was clearly terrified and needed whatever comfort she could give it.

She did as I suggested and guess what?! The cat was tons calmer

If anyone had done that with my cat they'd have my shoe buried in their heads

Well done QoC. Thank goodness there are still sensible and compassionate people like you who can't keep their gobs shut when faced with cruelty, ignorance or stupidity!

    Good morning all.

Hope everyones taken note of GameOver Zeus? Currently uploading back up files to Dropbox.

Yahoo email has updated this morning, extremely annoying sponsored "email" shows at the top of the inbox of emails. If anyone has any ideas of how to get rid of this pesky "email" then I'd be grateful to know, short of paying for email service which I refuse to do!

It can't be deleted like a normal email would be :(

Off out now to get 2 tyres fitted, ouch :( But needs to be done.

I have all my files on usb sticks not that I have many files :)

Sorry don't know anything about the email :(

Have you looked over on the pc ? thread .

    Good morning:(still got the splinter.

School nurse told us last year that medics now say to leave splinters alone as the body will naturally either break it down and absorb it or bring it to the surface. However, I can't leave them alone so find covering with savalon cream and sticking plaster softens surrounding skin and seems to draw it out within a day or two.

Hi Elite.....I've posted this in the Arms but thought I would bring it here too to see if anyone has any ideas.

I have been given the task in work of coming up with a World Cup competition. I did this in my last place of work....everyone had to predict the scores of each match, extra points for correct scorers etc etc. That was easy because they were all football fanatics and happy to spend the time filling out their forms and everyone took a keen interest.
Here, there are a lot of people interested but I've been told that so much detail would put a lot of people off entering. So my question is if anyone has any ideas of how I could go about getting people interested (and keeping them interested) without it being too much work for them? To me, predicting the scores is actually easier as really it's just a random guessing game.....I'm a girl and I won it for the last World Cup and Euro 96!!
Also, I don't want to do a straightforward sweepstake where someone gets Brazil and everyone else loses interest.
    Any ideas very gratefully received.....TIA.

    Leo

How about how many yellow red cards penalties each game extra points for naming which player gets the most

Or pick the winning team in each game divide the number of people taking part by the number of teams for example 6 people can only pick Brazil 6 can only pick Spain etc lowering the number with each round whoever picks the winning teams most wins

Good morning everyone, wet and miserable here today.

    Snap and fourp (hugs)

Nannylala, I have put a banana skin on splinter and a plaster over the top, it seems to draw it out.
