Thank you very much for that!:)
I knew you meant that - but I was referring to this (very very old and out-of-date article now):
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-16002303
' "It's almost an industry itself, actually," says James Foord from MySupermarket, which provides the data for Asda's Price Guarantee. '
I thought I saw "cottage industry" there - although I do remember Mr T calling it a "cottage industry" of a very small group of customers using the 'DTD price check vs Asda' when they pulled it in April 2011. A "cottage industry of savvy and determined customers" if I remember it rightly:D. At that point, I was proud to be part of such a "cottage industry".
The way they collect Morries prices for the APG, if it's still up online, is here:
http://www.asa.org.uk/Rulings/Adjudications/2011/2/ASDA-Stores-Ltd/TF_ADJ_49664.aspx
In particular, Response part 1, but also into part 2.
Response part 1 says:
"1. Asda said a third-party agency scanned shelf-edge prices and promotions in Morrisons stores in various locations across the UK every Monday and Wednesday, recording three prices for each product to minimise the risk of recording inaccurate price information. If a recorded price for a product was 20 per cent different from the price recorded in the previous week, the agency made an additional confirmation of the price. Asda said checks were carried out to ensure the data was robust and as accurate as possible and that more significant pricing and product identification discrepancies were investigated manually. Asda accepted that the price comparison exercise in Morrisons relied on the accuracy of shelf-edge labels but they believed the process was robust and involved processes designed to remove inaccuracies.
Clearcast [the television advertising clearance body set up by the industry] said that, because Morrisons did not have an online presence, unlike Tesco and Sainsbury's, the Morrisons data needed to be collected manually. Clearcast said they had examined the online and manual processes at an initial stage and were satisfied that it was a good and fair way of collecting competitor data."
Assuming that this is still the way they do it.
They scan every item three times apparently, to reduce mistakes. They do this in every one of the six stores they collect in (twice a week), at least one of which is in Scotland as that has a different data set.0 -

Yes, we were called a cottage industry, I was referring to that also.
Do Morribobs let them in to scan?“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

ResortHoppa private taxi from Palma to resort (1 hour away) and return back to airport 2 weeks later £137 which was with 25% off code on website and topcashback 8%.
Other sites as travel republic £186!!
I am pretty pleased with that. X
Sorry my reply is late but I use A to B all over the world. Resorthoppa is same type of company. I always find I get an excellant service but make sure you know the exàct time of your return trip as they do like to get you to airport in plenty of time.

SPC 7 Pot No 410 £232.63 Total0 -
We received our Nutri bullet today - must say we're both impressed. :T:TThis is something that will live on the counter-top and be used at least 2-3 times a day.
Haven't gone out and bought anything yet for it. I just used 1/2 a large bag of salad, 1/2 one of those mixed fresh fruit cartons + a Clementine in the first trial (all whoopsied day before yesterday) to make a large container (probably about 1 and 1/4 pints). The second one I used 1/2 an again whoopsied mix of cabbage, peas, basil etc. + the other half of the fresh fruit + 1/2 an avocado. All made up with just water.
I'm not too fond of green uncooked veggies (salad ONLY when I feel like it - which isn't often!) but TBH I couldn't really tell there was SO much green veggies in each of them. If I didn't know that 1/2 the container was veggies I honestly wouldn't have been able to tell, it tasted more like fruit, neither would hubby and he has an extremely good palate. (If we have a meal out he can 9+ times out of 10 recreate it better than original.)
Both were delicious and considering that nothing was bought in especially to make drinks - I'm well impressed! I can see our recycling bins being empty from now on & us always getting in at least our 5 a day EVERY day.
The avocado stunned both of us - half an avocado made the drink SO thick that we had to add more water. We now know why they said use just 1/2 as more would probably make it totally solid. TBH 1/4 would have been sufficient in the big container.
Looking forward to trying many, many more different concoctions. If they turn out better than our "ready to go out in the trash tomorrow" trial then we'll be turning into full-time garbage disposal units!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::o I honestly can't see us throwing much, if anything out with this.
I can honestly say it's easy. Why do people make in advance? It took all of a minute to load and liquefy. Cleaning is simples too, just run it under the tap.:T
Hope everyone else who bought at the bargain £79.99 is as impressed as we are.0 -

Hasn't the price already been collected if it's on msm as £6 for Morrisons? I thought the apg used prices on msm?
No, no, no - please refer to my previous post on "The way they collect Morries prices for the APG..." onwards.
Even in relation to non-Morries, the price on msm, if it's a price for T for example, hasn't been 'collected' - as, even if it's on the website, it may still take time to get into the APG system. Hence why I'm leaving the Crunchy Nut (now £1.57 in T on msm) off until at least tomorrow, as that appears to have only gone on today, and may still compare vs full price at T if bought today.
It's the different sourcing of data - on APG: vs T, vs S and vs W use online information, vs M uses instore.0 -

Do Morribobs let them in to scan?
Thanks for asking Dave:).
:rotfl:This very matter has indeed already been answered somewhere: I think James from msm said 'sometimes they work with permission, other times more covertly'. Let me find that one now...:D

What a pain they are. So no way of knowing when or if the comparison of £9.99 at A to £6 at M will update and work, shame. Price has been £6 on msm for M for at least 3 weeks I have been waiting to find a trigger and then0 -

fairclaire wrote: »......not the bank holiday mucking up price collections then?
:rotfl:
Nothing to do with that. They should in any event still have whatever they collected last Wednesday.
Gosh - reminds me, probably is safe to enter receipts now to hope for current prices, as APG T&Cs say prices for M 'may be up to 7 days old' - in other words, Tuesday after bank holiday collections put into the system by the Wednesday. Nonetheless, I'm still waiting till tomorrow:p. Whether this is Tuesday or Wednesday (i.e. [Strike]yesterday's[/Strike], oops day before yesterday now:D) results, I'd have thought there wouldn't be much difference in the prices instore. But may be possible that this has got N/A when they 'checked' (not very well:p:p) on Tuesday but maybe they managed to pick it up (or not!:rotfl::() on Wednesday just gone and that will reflect into the system once 'the results of the jury' are in!What a pain they are. The above reply to FC answers your question too. I'll add that it could have been going on and off on the APG, as they may have scanned it, then failed to do so on the next price collection, then scanned it on the following one. I'll add that I -:o:o don't have any real idea at all as to the range I saw instore on Tuesday, and still less on Wednesday when I think I properly failed to go down that aisle at all, as plain bald £6.00 cost was too expensive for me. Was looking at 2 for £6.00 but not on in M, I acknowledge trigger etc. and £9.99 x2 price to compare from would make a difference (if they picked up the non-trigger items bought), and £1.99 pricing in W recently has turned me away from JFs on higher prices in M. Again, I acknowledge may be different if trigger available and if one is found on which they did pick up M's price. (You can doubtless scour my M lists from previous threads, in the past, to see what ranges I had had on there or I can dig out my previous manual results from any of numerous pieces of paper in the past but sorry that's another 'at my leisure' thing:). None of which unfortunately helps as to what the price collection teams may have scanned or not.)0
