Forever trying to pause it slightly and keep it on track. Never managed to own a radio-controlled watch, as those pieces of equipment usually have difficulty picking up time signals? And always hideously expensive anyway, so kept with old-style watch:money:. I don't have a watch or don't wear one much at all these days, as able to rely on (probably inaccurate:rotfl:) public clocks!:)
I wonder if this how people feel who live on or near the Greenwich Meridian Line 'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'0 -

but if its known to be 3 seconds, it only has to be set 3 seconds fast to show as the correct time when viewed.0 -

I used to get cheap travel tips and subtitles to songs on TOTP. And news updated by the minute. Always amazed me that the US didn't have it. I remember reading the updates on the 9/11 attcks when the intyernet couldn't handle the traffic. I rmember ITV had a version called Oracle?
On another thread we were moaning about the disappearance of tapes.
Such is progress!

speaking of clocks...above Central Station in Glasgow is a countdown clock to the Commonwealth Games. "Powered by the Official Timekeeper to the Games"
It is always 2 seconds behind the main station clock just below it. eg if it was 9pm on the station clock it would say "the Games are starting in 60 days and 2 seconds".
Strange that they they aren't synced on the hour or are the Games opening 2 seconds past the hour
I had to know who I could trust. It risked throwing my entire enjoyment of the Games out of the window if the Official Timekeeper could be out by 2 seconds
So i wrote to Scotrail to ask which time was right(well what else am I going to do when I'm waiting for a train and I notice this glaring difference?) They apologised but didn't actually say which was right just that they check regularly and enclosed a £5 voucher :money:
Why £5? Because they took too long to respond to my query! :rotfl: Moral of the story, they need to pay more attention to the timeApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
It's supposed to synchronise with a time server. Obviously time server's out, not having that!!:p
Oh, just tried to set it manually to timeanddate's time. Failing by a split second either way each time - my finger is too slow or too fast!
So, I went and pressed 'update' on the time server screen - and it's now the precise right time! So their server (Windows) is correct after all!:T Phew, the end of the world has been prevented again (and breathe!!:D:rotfl:):).0 -

I used to play bamboozle on teletext every day after school
Confession: the car I drive has a fixed cassette player stillLast year Em and I went to a charity shop and found the Top Gun soundtrack on tape. It was warped unfortunately but it did make us laugh blaring out 'Danger Zone'

I had a payment of £20 off National Savings once. I didn't even have any money, bonds or any account or anything there. They were just dealing with one of my silly enquiries that, occasionally, I feel I have to write in and ask certain organisations/companies:rotfl:. Because they were a few days outside their target time, they sent me a cheque! Very nice surprise:T:T.0
