You should have been told what time you need to be there by.
If it's by 9 AM then that is what you will have to do.

As long as your petition and court appointment go OK then you should not have have to go back.

You are normally (as said by others in this thread) given a chance to have a quick conversation with the OR, or a day/time will be arranged for an initial chat over the phone. In a few places rather than do this by phone, you take a short walk to their offices on the day. It all depends on what the local arrangements are at that court.

If you need/want your case to be transferred to an OR's office nearer to you then you should take the chance in this first chat to request this. Most things are dealt with over the phone or in writing anyway.

Hi relaxsoon,

I'm not sure if this would apply to you but you also might possibly need to think about a bank account. I took my passport and a recent utility bill to open an account straight after court. One of my creditors was my bank so I needed to get an account opened asap in order that my salary can be paid into it at the end of the month.

Thats a good point i will need a account as my debt is all with my bank.

Hi all Thanks for all the support ,

all went well . drove all the way there and handed in forms ,
then i was sent to see judge didn't have to wait too long , got asked a few questions . Declared bankrupt !!!!!

So when do my accounts freeze etc ???

I just wondered when they do ? as i bought my lunch on my card as had to drive 3hrs to get to the court . what about like mobile bill how will they find out???
