Two copies of your petition & SOA, money for your fees (or proof that you're entitled to a cost reduction because you're on benefits) & money for a drink afterwards. :D Those are the essentials - you can bring things like bank statements with you if you wish, but they're not necessary as the OR will request anything they need, either from you or from the bank involved. Good luck. :)

Nothing to add, other than 'Good Luck'. I hope it all goes well for you.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

  • Good Luck...... You don't really need too much tomorrow for your court appointment.... Just the bankruptcy paperwork. After the judge has gone through your petition, he/she will sign it, then you are left with a very strange feeling of what is next! Its quite a surreal day really.

If your affairs are straightforward, ie you are employed/unemployed with regular proof of income then you will probably have your appointment with the official reciever over the phone, within the next week or so. You will either speak to the reciever at the court over the phone to arrange this, or be asked to contact him/her within 24 hours.
If you are self-employed, or things are not quite so simple then when you first speak to the reciever they will arrange the interview at their offices, again in a week or so.

Either way, it is when you have your receiver appointment you will need all the information to hand, bank statements, pay slips, credit card statements, everything financial from the past few years that you can lay your hands on. Also, do not panic too much if there is some stuff missing, as long as you are honest and clear with the receiver about who you owe, and how much then you will be ok... It makes sense when you think that they can find out what they want about you from the companies that you owe money to quite easily. Its better to take too much with you than too little, but remember that the receiver is human, and just doing their job.

It is honestly not as daunting as you would imagine, as long as you don't try to hide anything and give as much information as you possibly can.

Good luck, and stay calm xx

The only thing you might want to check is how many copies of the forms you need to take, some want two others want three.

Good luck for tomorrow, you will be fine.

Let us know how you get on.

    Take care

Not sure which court you're going to, but some need THREE copies of the paperwork.

    Good luck

Being unemployed and looking for work is definitely not a problem.

What other part of your situation are you worried about?
