Halifax Applying for credit limit increase

I wanted to know if I was to apply for a credit limit increase via internet banking which CRA would be used?
Further more do Halifax do pre approved limits or is it subject to external credit search?

I increased my credit limit yesterday from £500 to £1500 via there Internet Banking having only had the account 6 months to the day, I'm not sure if they use a CRA as such for credit limit increases, I think they assess you internally and on how well you've run your account so far?

Halifax credit cards is something I'm looking into. If they will use a credit reference agency they will use all three:

We work with three credit reference
agencies, Equifax, Callcredit and Experian.
