4 months short of the 6 years?

Hello all,
Pardon me if similar post has been discussed here.
Please can someone clarify my status - I left the Halifax 4 months short of 6 years ago, and want to know if I can still apply to claim for the bank charges all those years ago?

You can claim back 6 years from today. However, today moves. For the Subject Access Request, it is from the date of your request. For the bank claim and the Financial Ombudsman, it is from the date of your first claim letter. For the court claim, the Statute of Limitations Act 1980 states that it is from the date you issue your claim. For a court claim in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com[IMG]http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/ /><st1:country-region w:st=[/IMG]<ST1:pScotland</ST1:p</st1:country-region>, you can only claim back 5 years.<O:p</O:p
