i've started entering twitter comps in the last year or so (mainly Follow/RT ones) and was just wondering, when you win one do Twitter email you informing you that you've won or does the prize just show up in the post? or does it all depend on the organisers of each individual comp? Thanks

I've won twice. Both i recieved a direct message asking for my details.
They need your details to post the win to you.0 -
Often they will announce the winner in a tweet with @<your_username> which will show up in your notifications area in twitter and probably in your email as well. They will ask you to DM your details but they must be following you before you can DM them and sometimes they forget to do this so you will have to tweet them to ask them to follow you.0

Very helpful answers - thank you. I'm new to this competition game and have only joined Twitter to take part. In all honesty, Twitter leaves me rather confused as it seems so simple to enter that I feel I must be doing it wrong. As such, I did wonder how you found out if you won - so it is useful to know what other winners discovered.
Likewise with Facebook, I'm checking sites daily to make sure I don't miss anything and it's depressing to see the number who make a big deal of a proize draw and then fail to post any follow up regards a winner.0
