Credit Report - who to go to?

Hello

This may not make much sense - as i am writing with worriedness in my fingers!

Ok, basically, i went to buy a PAYG phone and it was declined, asked my mum, dad and sis to do the same - same result.

The network asked me to phone experian, which i did - they said buy our £10 report its much better than the £2 postal one

Then came onto mse for some guidance. from what i gather there are 3 refernece agencies. does it matter which one you go to? Doesn't the same info appear on all reports?

If i have to pay £10 per person per reference agency thats £120  Even the £2 postal request would work out at £24.

What do people suggest?

The experian guy said it could a simple mistake as to not being registered on the electoral roll - of course that would have been to easy, as i just checked and we are registered - so it's got to be something bad, but i can't think what.

Told you it would read like a worried post :o

Why would buying a PAYG phone involve any sort of credit check?

No idea  but that's what o2 said do (ring experian)

I bought a couple of payg's a few days ago, and thought that they may not let you buy more than 2, so tried, sister's, dad's and mum's name and all were declined. I phoned o2, and they tried to process the order over the phone, but it came up the same, and they said you should be able to buy more than 2.
