Does anyone know any forums/advice sites for >50 unemployed? Dismissal is looming and I could do with other folks' experiences to avoid feeling totally isolated/hopeless.Many thanks

After a few years of retirement I also felt I wanted to be doing something, both to keep me active and to earn a bit of extra money. Since one of the things I love most is my dogs, I decided to become a dog sitter. Word spreads quickly down the park after you speak to a few friends and other dog owners!
Since it's your business you can choose how many and price etc.
For instance I only take three dogs at a time as they get the run of the house and most of them want to sleep either on the foot of the bed or under it! I also only take smallish dogs the biggest being a cockapoo. I know I won't get rich as I only charge £15 a day but it does add up! Especially during the busy times ie school holidays etc.
Almost all of my customers are now regulars and their dogs all love coming to stay as they have other dogs to play with. And it certainly is keeping me active!
Obviously you need to love dogs, have a secure garden, and not be too house proud!:jWhen life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0
