if 3 year get nursery funding does it mean that

tax credits goes down? thanks

    Yes - you are only entitled to claim childcare costs you actually pay yourself.

    For example, if your costs were £100 pw but you were getting £50 pw paid for you, you can only claim for the (I think it's 80%) £50 that you're paying yourself. You have to notify them of the change.

    thats only if you receive credits as WTC though, if you only receive the CTC part childcare costs aren't taken into account

    gets paid back by child tax credits. i dont really understand how this extra - supposedly - funding works exactly. thanks.

    I'm not sure exactly how the additional funding works, when I worked for TC we used to get people phoning to say that they were now getting so much paid towards their childcare by their local authority, so I believe it may be to do with your local council?

    The amount you can claim will be what you are charged by the individual nursery, who will already deduct the amount of subsidy from the Council. So if your bill is for £100 per week (when before it was £150) you need to put the full amount of what you are liable to pay the nursery and the TCO will allow the relevant %.
