Bluetooth link between phone and keyboard: possible?

OK, so I would like to use a keyboard to type text messages. I have a lovely light keyboard, and both items are bluetooth-enabled, but when I try to connect the 'phone asks for a pass-key. The keyboard was made in China and sold on Amazon: the box does not even give a brand-name and the documentation does not include a pass-key. Any suggestions?

Thanks, but I tried that without success. Maybe I did them in the wrong order or was too slow...0 -
The instruction leaflets for almost every Bluetooth device I own state that if a passcode is requested just type 0000.0
